About what?
Welcome to the most unorthodox about page you will ever read. First I would like to say just a little bit about netrat.com and what the future holds for this site. The main index of netrat.com is quite obviously a restricted membership only site where I teach SEM and the art of how to make a website. The main reason that the site is private is that I love working with small groups of people so that each can benefit individually and get the attention that they deserve. We also test new and emerging ideas and don’t want to release any facts or theories that don’t prove out. This side you are now seeing is a simple Wordpress blog for sharing ideas and discoveries that I have made about internet marketing. I have to assume that this side will be a lot more fun for most people since the other side actually involves work, and not just theory. There was a blog at the main site for a long while that just wasn’t as much fun to write on as it should have been since it was purely factual and results driven. If you had the opportunity to read any of the articles that were up on that blog then you probably learned quite a bit about very specific aspects of internet marketing. But it was dry and boring, so I hope to change all of that on this version of the blog.
About me?
I am Alan Hood and I have been working on the Internet in various fashions since 1998. I have made and lost money, but more importantly learned a lot along the way. Most of my Internet ventures have been private, but with the emergence of WEB 2.0 and some really great 2.0 properties I have decided it was time to “come out of the closet” and netrat.com will play a big role in that coming out. I love sharing knowledge and learning from people who are willing to share, so if you have something interesting to say about any of the subjects on this site I am more than happy to hear from you. I hope over the next couple of years to make the acquaintance of many new and seasoned marketers. I hope that each of you will find this site to be worth the effort to visit, and hope you learn something new along the marketing path. Cheers!
