From a beginners perspective it can be very difficult to understand how to build high quality backlinks to your site.  You hear that you should send link requests to other webmasters and trade links with them, but most will be hesitant to trade links with very new sites, because they have very little to gain from the trade.  But this should be a part of your strategy for a number of reasons. First it could end up getting you some links to your new site, but more importantly it could end up finding you a friend who is willing to help you long term.  I cannot tell you how many people I have befriended simply because they or I asked to exchange links.  Two people with similar goals working to make their respective websites the best they can be have a lot in common.  So stick with a plan to ask at least 5 other websites to trade links with you every day.  It doesn’t take that much time and will pay dividends in the long run.

But that plan is not what I am writing this article to tell you about, there are other better ways to get high quality backlinks to your site that don’t require the help of any other webmaster.  Just remember what I have said in other articles about the amount of writing that is required to make my methods work correctly.  This is where we will be putting your commitment to the test.  Not only do you have to maintain your own site but now I am going to ask you to duplicate all of the effort you have put into your site on another site.  By duplicate I do not mean copy and paste, I mean rewrite from scratch and place it on your Wordpress blog.  There are two really great sites that I know work particularly well and some others that I have been testing with this method.  But for our purposes right now I am going to recommend only one, Wordpress.com.  Wordpress is one of the oldest and well established websites around and when you target your keywords into the name of your blog, its title, and the title of your articles you can get ranked for your phrases literally over night.  Of course it depends on the amount and quality of your competition for those phrases, but with effort your Wordpress blog will be some of the best links that your site will ever get.

Just by virtue of being on Wordpress your blog will immediately have some value but just like your personal website you need to get links to your Wordpress blog to increase its value.  I know this sounds like a lot of work, but believe me when I say that it will be worth far more than the effort you put into it in the long run.  Getting links to your blog is as simple as submitting it to free directories.  I like to make the commitment to submit all of my sites to 1 free directory each day.  This can take a lot of time but usually goes a lot faster if you have the description already typed out and ready to go.  Don’t forget to change the title of your site every once in a while for the directory submissions, not only will it help you rank for more phrases but will look more natural to the search engines.  Build up the quality and quantity of pertinent information on a Wordpress blog and link that blog to your site and you have almost made yourself an authority.  Next article I will write about another great site for making a website that you can link to yours that will also help with your rankings, it is also my second favorite behind Wordpress, and will probably surprise a few people.  Then after the next update I am going to share another site I have recently started using and will give my opinion of them, it looks like a really exciting site to me and on that I am hoping will prove to be one of the best yet.

Now go build a Wordpress blog and get some links to it.  You can never go wrong with Wordpress.
