I just posted a new article on my main site titled "How to Write a Story."

I wrote a second article titled the same with text link "How to Write a Story" and posted it at Peoplefuel. A third version will be posted and linked to Peoplefuel.

Questions:

How many articles should I put in my chain?

What is the ideal configuration?

How many text links should I include in each article?

What is the best placement for my text links?

Hi Lisa

Looks like you are doing it exactly right. As you know I recommend using a few different places for articles http://peoplefuel.com hubpages.com squidoo.com because of the revenue sharing factor but you can also use ezinearticles.com and some others. Just stay away from low quality article directories that have duplicate content in them. I would recommend 4 articles total, the main one at your site and then change up how you link the other ones together, just link in the mind map. Don't forget how important the keyword research is.

I find it best if you link from the bottom of the article. If the person likes your article then they will click through at the bottom as opposed to putting it at the top or in the middle. If you put it at the top they don't know whether or not they want to click through yet.

Hope that helps.

I just replied to your last post with a link to an article about linking strategy. Check out that article and what i have done in the past is have people make the mind map at bubbl.us and then make me a friend so i can look at the mind map also and make adjustments or suggestions for it.

The article i was referring to is here http://netrat.com/index.php/2008042819/Develop-a-linking-strategy

I'm in the process of writing a group of articles for the key words "How to Write Articles"

Here is the order in which I posted the articles

1. Post article on Fictionway
2. Post second article @ Peoplefuel -> Fictionway
3. Post third article @ Wordpress -> Peoplefuel
4. Post fourth article @ Expurt -> Wordpress

Follow the links and you can see how I have titled each article and used the same key words.

Hope this helps.

That was very helpful. It shows exactly how you should form a nice chain of articles. Then on the next set you should probably point all four feeder articles at your main site article (of course using the same keywords as the title of the article. Good Job.

Thanks from me too. Soon as I get my site respectable (characterized by proper behavior) I'm going to concentrate on links and articles.
Peace. R
